This pages detail all of the physical features of Passport Prime and their respective use cases.

Power Button

The physical power button on the top edge of Passport Prime has three main functions:

  1. When the device is completely powered off, pressing this button once will power the device back on.
  2. When the device is powered on, pressing and holding this button for 2-3s will show the shutdown screen. Slide the slider to the right to shut down Prime.
  3. With the device powered on, pressing this button once will lock the device and turn off the display. Pressing it again will wake the device and prompt you for your PIN to access the device.

Camera

The camera at the back of the device has multiple uses:

  1. Scanning transaction information from wallet software
  2. Verifying addresses
  3. Importing multisig wallet configuration files
  4. Importing items to the Vault, Keys and 2FA apps

Touchscreen Display

Just like all modern smartphones, this is where you will do most interactions on the Prime.

NFC Antenna

Not visible by looking at the back of the device, the NFC Antenna sits just underneath Prime’s rear cover and is primarily used for creating and recovering from Master Key backups. In future software releases, the NFC functionality will be expanded to cover transaction signing, wallet connections and much more.

Virtual Home Button

The virtual home button with haptic feedback makes using Passport Prime as easy as using your smartphone. Tap this from within any app to return to the home screen.

USB-C Port

The USB-C port found at the bottom of Passport Prime is used for charging the device as well as data transfer. At launch, this USB-C port enables functionality within apps such as Security Keys (for logging into websites and accounts), Files (for sharing important files to and from your phone or computer) and in the future, transaction signing and much more.

Passport Prime comes packaged with a USB-C cable that can be plugged into most wall adapters to charge the device battery.
