The beta channel gives you early access to upcoming Passport Prime firmware before it reaches the main release. It is a great way to try new features first and help us catch issues, but beta firmware is still under active development.
To keep up with the latest available beta software, follow our GitHub releases or the community forum .
Rolling back is not possible. Once a beta version is installed, you cannot downgrade to an earlier version. Despite extensive internal testing, if you hit a bug on a beta build you will need to wait for either a newer beta version or the main release containing the fix before it can be resolved. Only join the beta channel if you are comfortable with this.
Enable the beta channel
Beta firmware is delivered through Envoy. First, enable the beta channel from within the app.
- Ensure you are connected to Passport Prime via QuantumLink and that Passport is nearby
- Open the menu by tapping the menu icon in the top-left of the home screen (two horizontal lines)
- Tap About
- Tap and hold on the Foundation logo to open the beta screen
- Open the dropdown and choose the beta channel
The video below walks through the full process.
Install on Passport
With the beta channel enabled in Envoy, install the update from your Passport Prime.
- Open the menu by tapping the menu icon in the bottom-left of the home screen (two horizontal lines)
- Tap Update
- Tap Check for New Version
- Tap Update with Envoy

Once the install completes, Passport Prime will restart onto the new beta firmware. If you run into anything unexpected, please let us know at hello@foundation.xyz so we can get it fixed in a future build.
