What is the Steel Backup Capsule?
The Steel Backup Capsule is a solid metal seed phrase backup, designed to protect the words that secure your bitcoin. Built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, Capsule is engineered to withstand fire, floods, and physical impact, so your backup endures the same conditions your hardware might not.

Why Steel Backup Capsule?
Your seed phrase is the ultimate recovery mechanism for your bitcoin. Writing it on paper is a good start, but paper is vulnerable to water, fire, and general wear over time. The Steel Backup Capsule solves this by storing your seed words on individual stainless steel letter tiles, locked inside a tamper-evident metal casing.

How It Works
The Steel Backup Capsule ships with a set of stainless steel letter tiles. Simply slide the tiles for each word of your seed phrase onto the core, separate each word with a divider, then insert the core into the outer casing and fasten the cap. Your seed phrase is now protected against the elements.
